So the box is between the engine and the regular transmission?

No it is: Engine, T90, mysterybox, Transfercase

So it's able to be engaged in 2x4 or 4x4 hi-lo does not matter because the T18 that engages 4x4 hi or low is after it.

I guess it turns your jeep into a tractor.  Are you using the throttle?  What are the fender lights...turns or running lights?  How do you control the mystery box and what exactly is it doing?

No throttle, just iddle  Grin Grin tons of torque iddes up just about everything as long as the tires have grip. Fender lights are turn signals

There is a small number 3 stamped in the case and that is it. No manufacturer name or anything else.
