I haven't posted in a while still recovering from Major Surgery. Here's some pictures, The steering box awaiting a new sector shaft. It should be in the mail today, a Crown part from Quarter Ton And Military.  The shaft had very little wear but it was twisted at the splines. The box is getting a complete rebuild, bearings, seals, horn button and wheel.

Steering box complete! New bearings, bushings, and sector shaft, a complete rebuild. Steers like a new one. The sector shaft wasn't too worn but it had a twist at the splines.

Been working on the wheels, I had four and I bought one more for the spare. The spare was dated 1947 but the four that came with the Jeep were all dated 1950, the year of the Jeep, original wheels. In the picture the one on the floor on the left is what the fronts looked like, the middle one is the rear view and the right side one is cleaned and ready for paint. The two red ones are complete. Regal Red is the color that they will be. The Jeeps body will be Black.

They look great.....after many paint samples I also decided Regal Red looked the best...

I let them bake in the sun after painting....right or wrong they have held up well....

The wheels are done, now to let the paint cure for a couple of weeks then it's off to the tire shop to have the tires mounted! The four wheels that came on the Jeep are dated 1950, original wheels. The fifth I bought for the spare and it's a 1947.

Those look great, and should really look good with the black body color..I almost bought Traxions....in fact I ordered Traxions and immediately called back and changed to NDCC's...

Are yours 15" or 16"? Mine are 15's and were most likely original..

Mine are 16" and came from the factory with them. Everything about this jeep is still factory original. A rare find.

Is there anything in the historical documentation that mentions an engine replacement at some point?

No, but the engine has been changed. It now has a Kaiser Supersonic engine and It's a Jasper rebuild. The warning tags from Jasper are still on the engine.

The rear end is complete and ready for paint. New bearings, seals and hubs. Also added 11" brakes.
