Windshield angle

I just got curious about this after putting on my new winter top.  Its rather saggy.  So I got to wondering about what the windshield angle should be, thinking if maybe mine could be angled too far back.

With the cowl measuring right at 0* reference.  Measured at the middle of of the frame I'm getting 18*, passenger is 18* and driver is at 16*.  I would of thought the driver angle would be a bit further back than the driver but its not way out of whack.

Has anyone checked theirs?  Care to?

Thanks,
Brett

According to this the measurement from the top of the windshield frame to the rear inside edge of the body is supposed to be 66 1/2"

I just took mine over to storage and brought the welder home to repair the side steps or I'd sure measure it for you...I'll do it tomorrow though...

I just checked the angle on 4 different Jeeps, 3 of them have tops on them. They are 14*, 14*, 15* and 16*. From memory I think 16* is correct. A canvas top is going to shrink if that will help any.

Thanks guys, it looks like mine should be considered to be ok then.  I'm sure there is some tolerance or variance in the angle and also could be varied by where it is mounted in to the tub.
Just a little unnerving when you put on a pricey top and its saggy.  Hope it settles in like you say Bob
Thanks,
Brett

Bretto,

Even after a couple years, my top is still saggy.  I've read that they will shrink over time, but they probably need to get wet.  I just haven't been caught in a rain or snow storm while the top is installed.

I used a spray bottle to get mine damp when I first got it, but the water just beaded up because of the fresh water proofing.

P.S.  I think I would rather it be saggy than tight.  I don't think I would want to fight it into position.  It's already a pain to install it by myself.

Wait until your top gets soaked in the rain, it will shrink up. Then after a while it will loosen again. Pretty much like a pair of jeans after you wash them/ wear them

Put on a raincoat, turn the heater on, nice and cozy in the rain.

Oh, regarding windshield angle I just set mine so the gasket at the bottom smooshed down properly.
