Carl and Mac and their wives have returned for another round of trail driving in Southern Utah.

Analyzing the potential for a cloudburst as we contemplate our first trail ride into the high country.

Three of the many deer we encountered along the way.

Beautiful drive.

Nice place to stop for lunch.

Heading home.

Looks great guys, glad to see you back on the trails. This place looks more wooded and less desert-like than your previous excursions. Same area?

Thanks for sharing.  Someday I'll have to get down there with you for a trail ride.  I just don't have the transportation means to get there right now.

Is that a new topper for Carl?

Yes, it's the same area.  We have a small mountain range just a few miles to the north, and it's where we usually go in the warmer months (it's just that my friends have arrived earlier this year than usual).  However, you're right, we have much more desert and canyon country than we do alpine options.
And, Carl has had this top for some time, but he has never had it up on our previous trail rides here in Southern Utah.

Well, heck, it's in the 90's here in August here. The top is needed for me and the wife. We old geezers need all the shade we can get. Later I may drop the top for some rough tree lined trails but------maybe not.

Looking forward to seeing you Monday night Bob. There are so many trails here it would take years of living here to travel all of them. However, the best ones could be done in about two months of everyday driving.

The rest of the trails are rough and tumble that will severely test any Army Jeep, CJ2A, 3A, 3B or CJ5. There are few spots I have been reluctant to take my Jeep across and I do mean few. I am absolutely amazed at what these Jeeps will do and every trail is a learning experience.
